How do I register as a volunteer?

When on the Home page, click on the orange button in the upper right hand corner called “Register As a Volunteer” and follow the step-by-step directions. PLEASE NOTE: If you are 13 years or younger, we require that you have a parent or guardian's digital signature to proceed.

Why should I register?

Registration is not necessary to use this site to learn about nonprofits in our area and see volunteer opportunities. However, a free VolunteerSquare.com account gives you the opportunity to create a custom profile that will enable us to email you immediately and directly when an opportunity is posted that matches your particular skills and interests. Once you register you can also apply directly for a volunteer opportunity through the site immediately letting the nonprofit know that you're interested in helping out. You will also have access to our social networking platform called the Community section. Here you can share photos, videos and comments about your volunteer experience.

Your privacy is very important to us. You can set specific privacy parameters for your profile and determine what information you share, and with whom, by going to Edit Profile. The only information required to register is a valid email and username.

Is there a fee to use this site?

No. We do not charge any type of fee to use our site.

Is my personal information safe?

Yes. Your privacy is extremely important to us. VolunteerSquare.com will never sell, share or trade any of your personal information with anyone. You can also set specific privacy settings for your profile by selecting Edit Profile when you log in.

Is there an age requirement to use this site?

No. We welcome people of all ages who are looking to volunteer. However, safety is important to us. Therefore, users age 13 and under will be required to have a parent or guardian provide a digital signature at the time of sign-up.

How do I edit my profile?

1) Login into the site

2) From the navigation menu on the Home page click Go to My Profile

3) This will take you to your profile page where you will see a tab called Profile

4) Select an action from the drop-down menu (change profile picture, privacy etc.)

How do I apply for a volunteer opportunity?

Click on a specific opportunity that you are interested in. At the bottom of the form is a button called "Apply". Click Apply and fill out the form below. When finished, hit the “Send Application” button. PLEASE NOTE: Only registered users are able to utilize the Apply feature on the site.

How do I create an event for the Calendar?

When logged in, click on the Community tab. Once in the Community section you will see a series of black tabs at the top of your page. Click on the tab marked "Events". This will take you to another page where you can click on a "Create Event" link. Simply fill out the online form to create the event.

How do I post photos?

1) Login to the site

2) Click on the Community tab

3) Once in the Community section, you will see a series of black tabs across the top of your screen.

4) Click the Photos tab

5) Once there, you can add single photos, create entire albums or edit your existing albums

How do I post a video?

1) Login to the site

2) Click on the Community tab

3) Once in the Community section, you will see a series of black tabs across the top of your screen.

4) Click the Videos tab

5) Once there, you can add your own video url to the site as well as import from a number of external video providers like YouTube

What is the Find Me an Opportunity function?

The Find Me an Opportunity function does a quick match of registered Organizations to your Agency categories and Volunteer interests.

How do I register as an agency?

When on the Home page, click on the green button in the upper right hand corner called “Register As an Organization” and follow the step-by-step directions. Nonprofit agencies, churches, synagogues and other religious groups and political campaigns are free to register as Agencies. PLEASE NOTE: We ask that you respect our users and do not solicit for donations. You are free to post events on our Calendar and should you need volunteer help executing those events you are free to post those needs as volunteer opportunities.

Why do we need to register?

By registering with VolunteerSquare.com, you will have free and easy access to all the tools we offer including free unlimited volunteer opportunity postings and interactive social networking including the chance to upload and share photos, videos and events.

How do I post an opportunity?

1) Login in as your agency 
2) From the navigation menu on the Home page click Edit/Add Opportunities 
3) After clicking that, you will be directed to your agency’s opportunity section
4) On the right hand side of that new page, click on "Post New Opportunity"  
5) Fill out the online form with the details of your volunteer opportunity and click "Review This Opportunity Before Posting"
6) Once you review your opportunity one last time click "Post this Opportunity" at the bottom of the page. Your opportunity will not publish unless you do this.
7) After clicking "Post This Opportunity"
your opportunity is now live on the site and has been emailed out to our registered users

How do I edit an opportunity?

Once you post an opportunity you can still edit its content. To do this, log in as your agency and select "Edit/Add Opportunity" from the navigation menu on the Home page. Select the opportunity you'd like to edit and you'll be able to change the content. Remember to save before you exit.

Can I delete an opportunity?

From the Home page, click on Edit/Add Opportunities. Select the opportunity in your job panel that you would like to delete and hit the delete button.

My volunteer opportunities expired. How do I renew them?

In order to provide the most relevant and up-to-date content, volunteer opportunities posted on VolunteerSquare.com expire every 45 days. However, when an opportunity expires, it doesn't disappear. All you have to do is renew the opportunity to repost and resend to our registered users.

To renew your opportunity:

1) Login as your agency
2) From the navigation menu on the Home page click Edit/Add Opportunities 
3) After clicking that, you will be directed to your agency’s opportunity section
4) Once on that page, select the opportunity you would like to renew 
5) At the bottom of the opportunity description click on the Clone button
6) Cloning the opportunity makes a copy for you to renew. Change the publish date and delete the “Copy of” in the title of the opportunity 
7) Once you’re finished updating the opportunity, click Save 
8) Review it one last time and click Done to publish and email out to our users

How do I edit my profile?

1) Login into the site

2) From the navigation menu on the Home page click Go to My Profile

3) This will take you to your profile page where you will see a tab called Profile

How do I upload our logo?

1) Login as your agency

2) From the navigation menu on the Home page click Edit My Profile

3) On the next page click Change My Profile Picture and you will be directed to upload and save a new image
